Evelyn Fragoso, Senior Consultant
Former Union Organizer: Evelyn began her career in the labor union industry as a community activist and organizer in campaigns against large-scale retailers and department store chains, including The Gap, Forever 21, and Wet Seal. She was recruited by the United Farm Workers (UFW) led by Cesar Chavez and quickly became a lead organizer in the horticulture, warehouse, dairy, and food processing industries. These experiences led to her five-year stint as a Teamsters organizer wherein she expanded her background to include trucking and warehouse manufacturing, healthcare, and hospitality industries.
One of Evelyn’s greatest strengths and area of expertise is her ability to effectively communicate with people from all organizational levels. Her open, honest and forthright communication style resonates with frontline employees who are deciding how to vote in a NLRB election. She can describe in dramatic detail how a union operates, the amount of power an individual or a local union really has, how the collective bargaining process works, and the reality of living under a union constitution that protects the union rather than the member.
Evelyn’s experience includes campaigns against globally renowned labor unions including, but not limited to, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), UNITEHERE, United Food and Commercial Workers, International Longshoremen and Warehousemen, the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees, Communication Workers, Laborers, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Her success as a consultant can be attributed to her transparency in working with bilingual employees and clients, her assertive breakdown of the company’s situation, and lastly, her ability to deliver her message to employees with compassion, integrity and credibility.
Evelyn is bilingual in Spanish and English, both written and verbal, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from California State University. She is the recipient of many awards, and recognized for her service excellence in her chosen field. Evelyn is married and is the mother of three young children, and when she is not traveling on business, she spends her time with her family and community.
